STAY TUNED.

Okay, I have six days off coming after the first of the year, so hopefully (fingers crossed...toes too) I will get to post some of my new polishes.  I am horribly behind, but hey if you go to Sallys right now their Matte Magic from China Glaze is on clearance for 3 bucks!!  I got four in case I start running out and can't find it anywhere....again! .

Water Marbling.

Today I got an email from Raychul asking if I knew how to water marble my nails.  She had seen a YouTube video and linked it to my Facebook account.  So I watched this video and it came out kinda awesome on the girl, so I thought I would give it a whirl.  All you need is a cup of cold water, some nail polish, and a stick.  Also have LOADS of remover on hand as this gets all over your fingers!  I did all ten nails in less than an hour and trust me you have to work fast with this stuff because it will set up a skin on top of the water and that means its almost dry.  Be sure that you aren't near a fan or open air as this will speed the drying up.  So I used too many colors to mention but feel free to tell me your fave nail!!!

So first I will show you as you can see my fingers...truly hard to get off...however, I suggest putting the top coat on your nails first so you can do a bit of careful removing while not harming your artwork.
My left thumb was the last and hardest to do, however, it is my favorite as ugly as it is.  All this takes is a bit of practice and patience and you have a hundred dollar manicure done at home.

New England Patriots Manicure

Okay so it is finally autumn and with autumn comes football!  Now I'm not normally a girl who enjoys football, but I do enjoy the parties and good food that come with watching a game with friends.  I don't actually have a team I root for, however, when the Pats were in their first Super Bowl a few years ago I randomly rooted for them.  It was easy to pick, if Pepsi had the first commercial I would cheer for the Pats and if Coke had the first commercial it was the Carolina Panthers.  Therefore I cheered for the Pats and they won that year, and the next year I cheered for them just because they were the winners the year before.  Therefore I am a bandwagon fan and think Tom Brady can wear the heck out of a pair of Wrangler jeans.  But the Mr. is from New Hampshire so he has always rooted for the Pats and the Red Sox (ask about the time I wore the Yankees hat.).  So for tonight's Monday night football game between the Pats and Bills I have done a Patriots inspired mani.  I have been told by my other half that since the Pats are wearing their throwback uniform they will lose so don't say I wasn't warned my mani will be for nothing.

There were three polishes used to pull this off and it definately isn't perfect, but will serve.  Since the other half is a MAN he doesn't mind uneven lines, but it was the first thing he noticed when he walked in the door.  For the gray base I used Orly Mirror, Mirror, the blue tip is OPI Sea? I Told You!, and the red stripe is OPI Affair in Red Square.  Mirror Mirror and Sea? I Told You! were both two coats and one coat of An Affair in Red Sqaure put on with my striping/dotting brush.
It is nearly night time so the pictures were taken near dusk.

Essie Fall/Winter part 2

Okay so as promised here is the second part of my Essie review.  As with the other three I found the formula to be a little thin and the brushes to still be small.  However, they are highly pigmented and went on well with a short drying time.  Midnight Cami only took two coats where Pink Parka and Bright Tights took three to be good enough to make me happy.  These colors may not vibe with the rest of the collection as they are "younger" colors, but paired with the more muted tones they make perfect sense.  I got Chinchilly and Pink Parka on the same day and couldn't help doing a crazy french mani that I will show you as well.  So, without further ado, lets look at some polish.

The first one up will be Midnight Cami since it is probably the most normal and easiest as far as application went. I tell you now that this was almost a one coater since it was so unbelievably pigmented. I fell in love at first sight, this is a deep navy with dark blue sparkles that even pick up in normal lighting. I don't think the pictures did it justice honestly.

Next we will go for Bright Tights, after three coats it was perfect and worked double as a SOS signal from miles away. The pictures are weird as my camera hated this color.  I don't know why my nails are blurry and nothing else is?  Strange right?

And finally my favorite of all has to be Pink Parka.  I loved this color so much that I actually paid full price to have it immediately as opposed to waiting for it to ship.
This was two coats and again could serve as an SOS signal.  I did put a top coat on over this one since it is a neon and dries matte, however,  I didn't put a top coat on Bright Tights.
And here is Chinchilly with Parka Pink tips.  Pretty nifty.

Essie Fall/Winter Part 1

Well I'm sorry I haven't been around lately...work is horrid, but slowing down.  I only had to work one extra shift this week so it isn't too bad.  Today I have a few colors of the new Essie collection for you and then tomorrow or later I will post the rest.  The ones up for today are Angora Cardi, Mink Muffs and Chinchilly.  Now a side note is these are not ME colors but I love them.  They were all two coaters with tiny brushes and a thin formula.  Well enough talking, here are the pics, be sure to tell me what you think.

The first color will be Mink Muffs, this is a light chocolate color like that of a warm cup of cocoa.  It is very pretty and would probably work well with most fair to medium skintones.
The next color will be Angora Cardi...it is a pretty brownish mauve color.  This reminds me of a favorite long sleeved shirt I love to cuddle up in and read in the winter.
And last we have Chinchilly which is my favorite of these three.  It is a grayed out taupe and is fabulous!  This is one of the first collections where I can honestly say I will religiously wear all the colors and be happy about it.  So without further ado, presenting Chinchilly.

OPI My Private Jet (new release)

Today we have another on of my favorite OPI colors.  This color is a grayed black that looks to have silver glitter in it that flashes blue and green and purple.  This is by far the hardest color to classify and I'm normally good at putting my colors in their places.  Now, OPI has released multiple shades under the My Private Jet name so if you go hunting on Ebay chances are you might get an older bottle.  This color was picked up last month on display at Ulta and from reading other reviews this is a completely different shade than the original.
As with almost all the OPI's I own this was another two coater and extremely sparkly.  Check out the pictures.  Again no sunshine but if you want a sunny picture to enjoy let me know.
As always love and glitter to all.

CHINA GLAZE SECRET PERI-WINK-LE

Up today is a China Glaze I picked up at Sallys.  This was one from their permanent line-up that I have somehow passed by a million times.  While out with my mom this one finally caught my eye and I knew it would be true love.  The color in the bottle is flawless and the color on the nails is just as stunning!  It is a true periwinkle blue, the color of the evening sky right before a storm rolls in.  It is lovely and possibly my favorite shade of blue ever.  This again is two coats and no top coat, and as it was raining when I painted my nails there is no sunlight picture, but an outside picture at least.
As always love and best wishes to all.
